Why does my parking stays active or costs the same

In Italy, there are some parking areas with fixed rate. EasyPark adheres to the rules established by municipalities and parking operators, based on the information officially provided by them.

Minimum rate

In some parking areas a minimum price applies, meaning a set amount is charged regardless of the duration of your parking session. 

If you end your parking session earlier than planned, you will not see any credit or adjustment in the app, since the fee is predetermined and the final cost remains the same.

How to tell if an area has a minimum rate in the app:

You can easily see if a minimum fixed price applies by looking at the price displayed under the time selector. 

If the amount does not change when you increase or decrease the parking duration, this means the area has a fixed tariff.

Example: if the fixed price is € 2 for the first hour, you will pay € 2 whether you park for 10 minutes or 60 minutes.
 

Capped rate

In some areas, once a certain total is reached, the price will stop increasing and will remain the same.

In this case, the app will extend your parking session up to the maximum allowed time automatically because you've reached the maximum rate for that area.

If you end your parking session earlier, you will not receive any credit or adjustment in the app, because the maximum rate has already been reached. Your parking will remain active, but you can still start new parking sessions if needed in other areas!

How to tell if an area has a capped rate in the app:

You can easily see if a fixed price applies by looking at the price displayed under the time selector. 

Set your parking time using the time selector. If the price stops increasing at a certain point, it means a fixed tariff is applied. 

When your parking starts, a pop-up will appear on the screen to inform you that the session has been adjusted according to the area’s rules, showing the new end time.

Example: An area costs €1 per hour and once you reach € 4 turns into a daily ticket. 
If you park only for three hours, you will pay the hourly rate. After the fourth hour, since you have reached € 4, the app will automatically extend your session to the maximum allowed time without charging extra.
